Small Primary Bath Update

Project Scope: Update materials and finishes

Home: 1958 Ranch

Problems With Existing Space:

  • Vanity height

  • Felt dark

  • Could not open shower door all the way due to elongated toilet

Client Goals:

  • Lighten the space

  • Refresh finishes

  • Complete work with a very small budget

Final Thoughts:

The small bath in this home was given new life with bright and cheery in mind. The client’s English-style garden inspired the aesthetic alongside her goals for the space to feel lighter and decluttered. Apart from the new flooring and floating shelf, all materials were sourced secondhand. The functionality of the space improved with more natural light, a taller vanity and the replacement of the elongated toilet that hindered the shower door swing. My favorite part: The natural light and vintage ceramic knobs that were swapped out for the cap nuts on the light fixture. My client’s favorite part: The sink vanity converted from a vintage desk.
